Perforated Things

Monday, July 7th, 2008

The mark of a true professional is never letting his personal life interfere with his professional life.  That makes our sound man a bit excessively professional!  Sound man Bob (aka Mr. CJ) was considerate enough to wait until Reckless Red was on a short summer hiatus to get a perforated appendix.  He’s fresh out of surgery this morning, and doing well, all things considered.

Sending out some healing vibes to you, Bob!  (And if you try to be macho and recover too fast, I’ll have to kick your ass.)

Well, that was fun!

We had a great time at last night’s show at the Soiled Dove with Leon Russell.  Great crowd and energy, and I had more time than usual to talk to people after our set.  That’s always a good thing.  It’s hard to complain about anything when you’re playing the Dove.  Leon has some fun guys playing with him — Grant, it was cool chatting with you.

To all who were there, thanks for coming out!  I loved meeting you.  Don’t be strangers.

Colorado’s Loss

Tuesday, July 1st, 2008

I just heard the very sad news about the passing of Johnny Schou, bass player for the band Tickle Me Pink.  He was found dead this morning at home at the age of 22, on the morning of their debut CD release.  I don’t know the guys in the band personally, but my heart goes out to them.  Truly a tragic loss at such an exciting point in their career and lives.
